CMHA identified one of their existing rural operations requiring additional affordable housing. Due to the lack of skilled trades in PEI, especially in rural settings, 720 Modular was contracted by CMHA PEI after successfully delivering their Charlottetown building. 720 took the lead role providing a turnkey solution to the provincially funded affordable housing project in Alberton PEI. 720 provided an Integrated Project Delivery method by bringing all partners to the early design process to ensure success. By leveraging the experience of the previous consultant team and general contractor from the first CMHA modular project, and utilizing similar one bedroom and studio designs, the overall design phase was shortened by 2 months compared to the previous design schedule.

The consultants were contracted by the owner, while 720 coordinated all aspects of the project from early schematic design, design development, modular site construction, and erection. The project exceeds requirements under the 2015 NBC by 20% for energy efficiency. By incorporating many of the lessons learned during the first modular project with CMHA, this project was turned over only 11 months from date of award!
